New Priest Appointed

The Five Saints Cluster is looking forward to welcoming Jem as per the announcement below:

"The Bishop of Truro, the Rt Revd Philip Mounstephen is pleased to announce that The Revd Canon Jeremy Stephen Thorold, at present Priest in Charge of St Michael the Archangel Newquay and also Assistant Curate of St Columb Minor and Colan in the Diocese of Truro is to be Priest in Charge of the Benefice of Chacewater with St. Day and Carharrack; Assistant Curate for the parish of Gwenapp and the parish of St Stithians with Perranarworthal; and, subsequently and subject to current proposals for the Union of Benefices in the deanery of Powder and Carnmarth North, the post of first incumbent of the proposed new ‘Benefice of the Five Saints’ comprising the parish of Chacewater; the parish of St Day; the parish of Gwennap; and the new parish of St Stithians in the Diocese of Truro.

This is conditional on legal formalities being completed.  He will be licensed by the Bishop at a date and place to be arranged."

Married to Sue who works for the Diocese of Truro, we have 3 grown up children and 5 Grandchildren.

We have two dogs and like keeping fit, walking, the sea, Cornwall and the people of Cornwall.
